A Complete GCSE Programme

for Home Educated Students

A Class Above is a very unique tuition package for home educating families who would like professional, comprehensive and tailored tuition to enable their child to prepare for GCSEs. It is a little bit like having your very own governess to plan, oversee and deliver your child’s education.

A Class Above is a complete programme, taking your child through their GCSEs from start to finish and supporting you every step of the way. We provide a guided approach through each subject, ensuring that the full curriculum is covered and understood. Homework tasks are provided each week. Assignments will be set and marked with feedback given. Students will be taught how to answer exam questions and will have lots of exam paper practice.

Joy to Learn is not a school. A Class Above does not provide a full-time education.

A Class Above: A personalized and complete GCSE tuition program designed for Year 10 and 11 students who deserve the best in every subject.

Here’s what we provide:

30 Weeks of Tuition each year
Structured Private Lessons:
- English: 2 one-hour lessons per week
- Maths: 2 one-hour lessons per week
- Science: 2 one-hour lessons per week (covering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics)
- Humanities: 2 one-hour lessons per week per subject
Marked Homework Assignments to reinforce learning and track progress.
In-Person Tuition: All lessons take place at our home in Yarnfield, providing a comfortable and dedicated learning space.
Comprehensive coverage of course material to enable the student to be ready for the exams
Exercise Books
A pencil case with writing and maths materials
Keep parents informed of their child’s progress and provide help and advice where relevant
Documentation for Local Authority Reports for an extra fee

Here is what you will need to provide:

Buy required text books
Find and book a suitable exam centre
Organise and pay for exams
A scientific calculator (where needed, depending on subject)

Programmes

A Class Above is a two year programme aimed at children who would be in school years 10 and 11. The programme runs from the beginning of August to the end of April.

The course can be condensed into one year for children who have only left school in year 10 or 11 and need to prepare for exams quickly. There may be opportunity to start mid year depending on availability.

Children can start the course at an earlier age if they want to sit exams early. This can be helpful for home educators who want to take a few exams per year rather than sitting them all at once.

There is an option to pay annual tuition costs in 3 instalments, at the beginning of each term, in order to spread the cost

Silver Programme

Providing a total of 120 hours of 1-1 tuition and working towards 2 GCSEs.

Gold Programme

Providing a total of 180 hours of 1-1 tuition and working toward 4 GCSEs.

Platinum Programme
